About Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
Tadoba is one of Maharashtra’s most famous spots for sightings of the majestic tiger. This national park has derived its name from the God ‘Tadoba’ or ‘Taru’ whom the local tribals worship. Tadoba has one of the highest populations of tigers in the country. It is for this reason that adventure enthusiasts and wildlife lovers flock here in large numbers for sightings of the awe-inspiring Big Cat.
Apart from its healthy population of tigers, Tadoba also has a lot more to offer. This dry, deciduous forest is home to a plethora of flora and fauna species. You can expect to spot leopards, hyenas, sambar, and a variety of deer apart from jungle cats too. You may also sight fabulous variety of reptilian life forms including crocodiles, pythons, and cobras. Those who love spotting avian life will also be delighted at the healthy population of eagles and peacocks.
