About Valparai

Valparai is a quiet hill station in Tamil Nadu, nestled in the Anamalai Hills of the Western Ghats. Unlike busy tourist spots such as Ooty or Munnar, it retains a calm, unspoiled charm. The journey itself is memorable, with 40 scenic hairpin bends from Pollachi offering breathtaking views of forests, valleys, and waterfalls. The town is surrounded by vast tea estates, mist-covered hills, and an abundance of wildlife, including the rare lion-tailed macaque and Nilgiri tahr. The cool climate, especially from September to March, makes it perfect for nature walks, tea estate visits, and exploring nearby gems like the Sholayar Dam, Topslip, and Parambikulam. Valparai’s peaceful vibe and lush greenery make it feel like a hidden paradise for those who love nature and slow travel.

Welcome to Valparai
Arrival at Coimbatore Airport in the morning, followed by a transfer by vehicle via Pollachi, Aliyar Dam, and onward to Valparai. The journey takes around 4.5 to 5 hours, The route passes through the Anamalai Tiger Reserve ghat road, with its famous 40 hairpin bends, where you may spot Lion-tailed macaques, Malabar giant squirrels, and hornbills. Upon arrival, check in at a wildlife-friendly estate stay. In the evening, enjoy a guided walk near the forest edges and tea plantations, with opportunities to see Indian giant flying squirrels and other nocturnal species.

Explore Valparai
The next morning begins with an early birding session in the estate forest patch, where you may encounter species such as the Great hornbill. After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning exploring the tea estate surroundings. Lunch will be at the estate or a local mess in Valparai town. In the afternoon, take a scenic drive towards the Sholayar Dam stretch, keeping an eye out for elephants, gaurs, and Malabar civets. Return by evening and, if you wish, head out for an optional night drive to spot nocturnal wildlife.

Explore Valparai
On day three, continue exploring Valparai until evening and, upon returning, unwind with a peaceful sunset walk through the tea plantations.

See off Valparai
We will leave early to explore Valparai one last time returning to the bungalow by breakfast time. After breakfast, check out and drive back to Coimbatore Airport, arriving by afternoon for your onward journey.
