Mishmi Hills & Maguri Bill

The Mishmi Hills, an extension of the Great Himalayan Range, stretches southward, bordered by China to the north and east. Nestled in the Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, this region is marked by the Dibang River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra. As part of the Eastern Himalayan province, a biodiversity hotspot, Mishmi Hills boasts diverse topography and heavy rainfall, nurturing lush forests teeming with over 100 mammal species, 600 bird species, and numerous butterflies and insects. Notably, it’s a haven for rare endemics, including the elusive Mishmi Wren Babbler rediscovered in 2004.

Upon arrival at Dibrugarh Airport by 1.30 PM, Guests are transferred to Roing. Approx time to reach Roing is 4 hrs, have our Permit and proceed to Roing town. After Check-in, Settle In. Night stay at Hotel in Roing.

After morning birding and Breakfast start for Mayodia Pass. On the way we will cover the lower Tiwarigaon area and The lower part of Mayodia Pass. Reach at Coffee House, Check-in at Coffee House and post-lunch birding will be done around Mayodia Pass. (Night stay at Coffee House).

Full day birding at Dehing Patkai in search of Grey Peacock Pheasants and other rarities. ( Night stay at Maguri).

Morning Birding - Drive back to Dibrugarh
Morning Birding session if time allows, Checkout and head for Dibrugarh Airport (2 hours drive).
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
      Please note :
  • Birding in Mishmi Hills may present challenges such as birding in the rain, encountering leeches in the forest, and basic accommodation. However, the remarkable diversity and richness of this bird-watching destination make it a paradise for birders.
  • During the birding trip, you will be staying at Frogmouth Camp and Coffee House, which offer basic amenities such as clean toilets and comfortable beds. Please note that electricity is not available all day and is generated via a diesel generator for only one hour from 7-8 PM.
  • The stay in Maguri will also be non-AC, but with a good supply of electricity throughout the day.
  • However, the stay in Dibrugarh will be in an AC accommodation with all the standard amenities that one can expect from a city hotel.
  The trip comes to a close with wonderful memories.
