About Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in the state of Rajasthan. Home to a plethora of bird species, Bharatpur is a birdwatcher’s delight! In these verdant wetlands, you can expect to spot species such as Lesser Whistling Duck, Bar-headed Goose, Marbled Teal, Mallard, Common Quail, Lesser Flamingo, Greater Flamingo, Bonelli’s Eagle, Tawny Eagle, and Peregrine Falcon, among many others. Arrival at Bharatpur Junction – Transfer to Homestay – Evening Birding Session
Guests will be picked up upon arrival at Mathura Junction. From there, we drive approximately 60 km (about 1 hour) to our homestay in Bharatpur. On arrival, we freshen up and enjoy a delicious lunch. After some time to relax and get acquainted with fellow group members, we head out for our first birding session in the evening, exploring the rich birdlife of Bharatpur. Later, we return to the resort for dinner and a restful night’s stay.

Guided Birding Sessions
An action-packed day awaits with a full-day birding session, exploring Bharatpur’s incredible diversity of local and migratory species. Guided by our experts, you’ll have the perfect opportunity to capture breathtaking photographs of these majestic winged creatures.

Bharatpur Birding – Chambal Boating
We begin the morning with another enriching birding session to discover more of Bharatpur’s natural wonders. Later in the day, we head out for an exciting boat ride on the Chambal River, offering chances to spot the rare Gharial Crocodile and the elegant Indian Skimmers. The fun-filled day concludes with delightful sightings, followed by a delicious dinner and an overnight stay at the resort.

Bharatpur Birding – Chambal Boating
On the final day of the trip, we head out for one last birding session with our experts, making the most of Bharatpur’s rich avifauna. After returning to the resort, we pack up, check out, and proceed towards Mathura Junction (approx. 40 km / 1-hour drive) for our departure.  Meals: Breakfast, Lunch The bird photography expedition ends with wonderful memories and some lovely compositions.
