Living up to its title of “Sanctuary” the ecosystem at Umred Karhandla is multi-faceted and intermingled. The grassland is dominantly dry deciduous with teak growing generously all over the southern tropical forest. How to reach Umred National Park
Commuting to and fro from the sanctuary is fairly easy and convenient. As Nagpur is a well connected city most means of travel can easily be managed from here. The nearest airport to the Umred Karhandla sanctuary is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur.
Tourists can hail cabs from the airport and reach the sanctuary in an hour and a half max. For train rides, the nearest railway station is also at Nagpur which is about 58 km from the sanctuary.
Umred is the nearest bus station in the area. Many buses take the route of the sanctuary and will drop you just in front of the entry gate of the sanctuary.
