Fauna of Garva Agro Tourism
The rustic cottage is located on a local farm in the middle of a large campus amidst the verdant trees of turmeric and betel nuts. The master of this pleasant location, Sachin Karekar, is a bubbly, helpful person who’s always bustling around making sure the guests are well accommodated and satisfied. The family has personally decorated the guesthouses with native aesthetics and a supreme ambience. Mr Sachin also personally escorts guests along the vibrant nature trails available around the property. Terming himself as a pioneer of Bird watching, the master of the house will tell you about the 176 species of birds found in the encircling forests as he helps your tour around. The Blue-Eared Kingfisher, one of the most well-known and vibrant birds in the Indian Subcontinent, is also readily seen perched on tree branches and river beds in the area. Despite his role as a guide being secondary, Mr Sachin has ample knowledge about the various flora, plantations, animals and especially the avifauna of the area. Once you reach Hedvi, you can take a cab or taxi till you reach Garva AgroTourism. For those wanting to experience a long drive, Kokan state buses are functional from Pune, Goa and Mumbai. You can take a taxi to reach the hotel from the bus stop. For those traversing through trains, Chiplun is the nearest railway head. You can take a train ride to Chiplun, and then cover the rest of the 45 km via a rental car, cab or a taxi.
