Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve, is not only a place to enjoy a Jeep Safari and spot wildlife, instead, the rivers, terrain, dam, and the fauna makes it possible to enjoy a multitude of exhilarating and relaxing experiences to make your stay truly memorable. Starting with the Safari, tourists can opt for 4 persons gypsy, 8 persons jeep and even canter safari for almost 16 persons to view the Dhikala zone. Gypsy and Jeep Safari, however, are open for more than seven zones and generally cover a larger land. So sit tight, as an open-air jeep takes you through the areas with the highest concentration of animals such as elephants, monkeys, leopards, red fox, black bears, and of course, the Bengal tiger.

Next, you can try riding on the back of an elephant, with a trained mahout driving it, and have an exceptional time enjoying an Elephant Safari to explore the forestland at a safe height of 9 to 10 feet. And if your heart’s desire to snuggle in the lap of nature has not been quenched, you can also book a camping package that includes fishing trips, bonfires and guided tours through the breathtaking forests. Nights under the starry sky and the surrounding mountains will truly make this camping experience a magical one. Another secret delight is none other than the Corbett Waterfall. This fast flowing waterfall can be enjoyed from a safe distance, without entering its waters; as they might be infested with snakes and crocodiles. Another important activity that you must indulge in, especially during winter times at the park is bird watching. It’s hard to believe but around 650 species of colorful and unique birds nest in the reserve in the months of November-December. This is the time when migratory birds come to India from as far as Siberia, to escape cold. Some of the many birds include forest dove, finch, robin, hornbill, Siberian crane, babbler and kingfisher. You can also seek blessings at the Gajria Temple near Kosi River, with the statue of Lakshmi-Narayan made of the rare black granite. Furthermore, Stibani is the perfect place for trekkers to hail an adventurous trek and explore nature while at Jim Corbett.

You can also enjoy fishing at the Ramganga river, maybe even try river rafting, rappelling, river crossing or just enjoy a peaceful walk near the Kosi River with its stunning views. While on your way out, make sure to visit the Corbett Museum, one of the most fascinating places in the whole National Park. The museum is now located in the bungalow that used to be the house of the famous conservationist- Jim Corbett- after whom the park has been named. The museum is home to a lot of educational material that teaches visitors about the Bengal tiger, the infamous man-eaters and other animals that reside there. You can also discover stories about Jim Corbett, his adventures and his efforts to build a safe and habitable environment for the animals. A small shop also sells souvenirs and hand-crafted local items that one can buy.
