About Pilibhit Tiger Reserve

Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is located in Pilibhit district, Lakhimpur Kheri District and Bahraich District of Uttar Pradesh state in India. It lies along the India-Nepal border in the foothills of the Himalayas and the plains of the ‘terai’ in Uttar Pradesh. It is one of India’s 41 Project Tiger reserves. Forests in Pilibhit have at least 36 tigers and a good prey base for their survival.

The Pilibhit Tiger Reserve covers an area of 72689.48 ha. situated along the Indo-Nepal border. The forest is rich and diverse. It is a mosaic of high sal forests, plantations, and grasslands with several water bodies. The jungles are home to a myriad of wild animals including the endangered tiger, swamp deer, Bengal florican, hog deer, leopard, etc.

Plilibhit is a wonderful city in Uttar Pradesh. Pilibhit is also famous for the flute industry in the world. This city is well connected with Railway and road.

Arrival at Lucknow – Check in to Resort – Evening Discussion session
Day 1 Arrival at Lucknow Airport early morning (7 am), explorers will be greeted and taken to Pilibhit National Park. Once we reach, we will check in to the resort and freshen up. After lunch we will leave for our 1st safari at Pilhibhit Tiger reserve. First day ends with a delicious dinner and we rest for the night.

Safaris and Birding
Day 2 begins early with a piping hot cup of chai post which we head out on the day’s first safari. We will aim to follow pugmarks to spot tigers as well as many other resident species. We return for a scrumptious lunch and set out once again for the second safari, this time in Pilibhit Tiger reserve. The day comes to a close with a discussion followed by dinner and an overnight stay at the resort.

Tiger Safari and Birding Continues
Day 3 mirrors the fun and action of day 2 as we once again set out on a morning safari at Pilhibhit Tiger reserve after refreshing tea. We will once again aim to spot tigers and perhaps even see a leopard. We return for lunch and freshen up before the second safari of the day. Birding enthusiasts can delight as we will also spot some magnificent species of avian life forms. We return to the resort for dinner and rest for the night.

Morning Safari – Check out Return to Lucknow
On the final day of the trip, we will head out on one last safari to make a few more sightings and capture a few more beautiful wildlife shots. Once we return, we will have breakfast, check out, and return to Lucknow for the journey back home.
